Oakmont Country Club
5 reviewsIntroduced in 1903 by designer Henry Fownes, Oakmont Country Club has hosted more major Championships than any other course in the U.S., including eight United States Opens, five U.S. Amateurs, three PGA Championships, and two U.S. Women’s Open. Perhaps the most difficult course in North America, Oakmont features 210 deep bunkers (personified by the Church Pews), hard and slick greens that slope away from the player, and tight fairways requiring the utmost precision.

The experience around the greens when we ramp up the green speeds is very realistic in my experience. We play with lie penalties enabled and the one thing I found to be inconsistent is the really long grass is not a severe penalty so the really long and crooked players get a real reprieve on this course. Other than this, the course plays great and when friends come over to play Oakmont is always in the discussion.

Oakmont is a killer. Pay attention to the couple greens that run front to back!
Great course. One of the longer courses offered. Well worth the money.
I enjoyed this version of Oakmont. Good course!
I love this course, the scenery and the history behind it! Highly Recommend!
